Vintage Needlepoint Crown Purse Handbag
Fabulous 1950s handbag with a needlepoint crown on each side. It has been beautifully made and has areas of petit point on the crown. The sides and bottom of the bag have a laurel leaf design. The frame and chain handle of the bag are made out of a light colored gold-tone metal and there are four gold-tone feet on the bottom. The bag measures 8 1/2" high x 10" wide x 3" deep. It is lined with a mustard yellow moire fabric and is in good condition with light marks throughout in accordance with age. During the 1950s crowns were a popular design motif for jewelry and accessories because of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June, 1953.
