Kenneth Jay Lane Orange and Black Dangle Earrings
Super fun orange and black Kenneth Jay Lane clip-on dangle earrings. Each earring has two orange resin stones set in black enamel and measures 2 1/4" long x 1 1/8" wide. They are marked 'Kenneth Lane' on the back and date to the 1990s. The earrings are in excellent condition.
Kenneth Jay Lane was born in 1930 in Detroit, MI. He founded his costume jewelry firm in 1963. His designs were so popular that his initial collection at Saks Fifth Avenue sold out in one day. Lane’s jewelry has been worn by Diana Vreeland, Jacqueline Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Diana the Princess of Wales. One of Lane’s best known pieces is the three-strand imitation pearl necklace that was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy. Lane has appeared in Andy Warhol films, was mentioned in a song by by Lou Reed and appeared on numerous Best Dressed Lists.
