Large 1970s William de Lillo Nautical Brooch
This is a very special large nautical brooch made by William de Lillo in 1970. It is from the William de Lillo and Robert Clark archival sale that happened several years ago in Arizona. The brooch has it's original handwritten archival tag featuring the year it was made (1970) and its style number. The brooch is in the shape of a cross. It is made out of five glass tiles - three featuring navy ships and two featuring navy anchors. The tiles are set into a gold-tone material and they are surrounded by navy glass faceted stones. The brooch has a hook on the back so that it can also be hung on a necklace. It measures 3 5/8" long x 3 1/2" wide and is signed, "deLillo" on a plaque on the back.
