1950s Napier Brown 'Cumquat' Necklace
This necklace is made out of gold-tone metal and features a pendant measuring 3 3/4" long and consisting of three brown colored lucite beads. The pendant hangs from a chain measuring 17" long. The beads are made out of a resin named, 'moonglow' by Napier because of is luminous quality. Each bead is topped with thick gold-tone curled metal tendril. The necklace is from Napier's 1955 'moonglow cumquat' series and featured on page 310 of the book, 'The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry'. The back of the clasp is marked, 'Napier'. Overall the necklace is in good condition with some light wear to the gold-tone metal throughout - see photos. The 'moonglow' cumquat series had enormous success in the 1950s and became a best seller for Napier.
