1960s Coppola e Toppo Blue Ombre Crystal Necklace

Fabulous 1960s Coppola e Toppo blue ombre faceted crystal bead necklace with decorative crystal bead clasp. The beautiful beads are graduated in size, strung on a nylon thread and go from dark blue to light blue to aqua - a true example of the signature ombre style used by Coppola e Toppo. The necklace is short. It measures 15 1/2" long and is signed, "Made in Italy by Coppola e Toppo" on the back of the clasp.  

Coppola e Toppo was formed in the late 1940′s by the brother and sister designer duo, Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo in Milan, Italy. After small commissions for Dior and Balenciaga, Elsa Schiaparelli commissioned a line of faux coral bead jewelry, which launched them to the top of the couture fashion echelon. Pucci and Valentino followed with more commissions. This allowed them to increase the number of their jewelry designs under their own Coppola e Toppo label.
