1970s Napier Goldtone Lynx Brooch Endangered Species Series

This 1970s lynx brooch is from Napier jewelry’s "Endangered Species" series. This series is a highly collectible line of costume jewelry designed by Eugene Bertolli in 1972. It features endangered animals such as this Canada lynx and included the Florida black bear, an elephant, a mountain lion and an otter. The brooch is  made out of a textured gold-tone metal and has green glass eyes. It measures 1 1/2” wide x 1 3/8” long and is signed ‘Napier’ with a copyright symbol on the back. The brooch is in very good condition and is part of a series that is featured on page 468 of the book, The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry by Melinda L. Lewis.
