Vintage Ciléa Bijoux Eggplant Brooch

Very collectible and fun vintage eggplant brooch made by Ciléa Bijoux. The brooch was handcrafted in France out of a patented cellulose-based resin called Émaline. It measures approximately 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" and is stamped Ciléa Paris on the back. The Ciléa Bijoux company was founded in Paris in 1992 by artisan Stéphane Ravel. He was trained by the artist Monique Védie, who passed down classic techniques for hand crafting three-dimensional, lightweight costume jewelry. The brooch is in very good condition.
