Vintage 1950s Trifari Peapod Brooch by Alfred Philippe
Very collectible vintage 1950s Trifari peapod brooch designed by Alfred Philippe. Philippe was a jewelry designer who worked as a master craftsman for Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. After the Great Depression in the 1930s, he became the head designer at Trifari where he remained until 1968. The brooch is made out of a brushed gold-tone metal and filled with five faux pearls. The tendrils of the peapod are studded with smoke colored rhinestones. The brooch measures 2 3/4" long x 1/2" wide and is signed on the back with the crown Trifari mark. Very good condition.
